Jameis Winston on the 14th of this month. He is the best player in college football this year. He has played the best this season. His team is number one. Going into the BCS game, he will be the focus for Auburn.
There is a great disparity between the number of his rushing touchdowns and last year’s winner, Johnny Manziel from Texas A&M. But Winston has a more passing touchdowns. He also has one really good statistic.
Winston played in very few fourth quarters. Winston didn’t even play in all the third quarters. So he had less time to amass the numbers.
Plus, he didn’t have to be a creative as Manziel. The reason, his team is so much better. Both running backs and receivers for Florida State have a lot more talent than Texas A&M. Mike Evans for the Aggies is probably the only other NFL ready talent on their offense right not. Maybe some of their offensive line? Some other will be drafted, I am sure. But not that many others will be effective.
Some will say that off the filed things makes a difference. I disagree. There are two components that are mentioned ability and integrity. Winston’s ability can’t be doubted. Some question his integrity. But they don’t understand, integrity is only on the field. There are plenty of ways to cheat on field. Not just steroids or PEDs. But trying to do things that shouldn’t; getting first downs illegally and trying to get away with things. Many ways to cheat but they only deal with on field. Or at least they should only be on field.
I say that because no one knows Eddie Griffith or Tony Dorsett’s GPA. They don’t know their class schedule. So ability in school is never questioned. Why would integrity off field be a part of the Heisman? I contend it should not be.
Anyway, Jameis Winston will win the Heisman Trophy this year. Jordan Lynch should be second. Marion Grice third. It won’t play out that why but it is my vote.
