Week 8 opened up with another example of polls inadequacy. Though this instance is not as egregious as many have been. But it does demonstrate the need for an accountable system.
UCLA scored 40 points to (#20) California 24 points. This was a PAC 12 South rivalry that extends into the PAC 10 days. Deep seeded rivalry. In state rivalry of two schools in the California state system. This one was going to be a tough battle.
It can be argued that UCLA was in the rankings earlier this season. They are ranked 2nd in the South and still in the hunt. The fact that they are unranked is a comment on the system. Either they were too highly regarded early on. Or they are being discounted now. Does either one make it better? They both expose some problem with the current system.
I would be glad to implement a better change. I think College Football needs a commissioner. I am ready for it to be me.
